FILTH - Demo and Live Songs
http://www.mediafire.com/?ik3ujnmjmv5
Rougher versions (as if it's possible) of songs that would later be on their DESTROY EVERYTHING lp and later The shit Split with Blaatz on lookout records.
Formed in the San Francisco East Bay in 1989, from the ashes of Isocracy, The Vagrants, and Crimpshrine. Filth was a crustcore band that would help define the later “East Bay Hardcore” style. The band combined the more upbeat, sometimes poppy guitar styles of Isocracy’s Lenny Rokk with harsh screamed vocals, courtesy of Crimpshrine roadie, Jake Sayles.

STRATFORD MERCENARIES - Live @ the Showcase Theater
http://www.mediafire.com/?zmtwd5qjut5
This show is from april 18, 1997 at the Showcase Theater (the flier says somewhere else, but the show was moved to showcase at the last minute.) This band Features Steve Ignorant of Crass and Gary from DIRT on Guitar. They play some orignal and CRASS songs. I taped this myself, the quality is so so... It was a great show, and a lively performance. I also will be posting Naked Aggression's set from this show.

VITAMIN L - Easy Beans
http://www.mediafire.com/?zmtcul1ijmz
this is Vitamin L's first CD EASY BEANS. They were a punk - ska band from Orange County, kind of from the Voodoo Glow Skulls school... but definatly different. Saw them Live once, they were killer. IF for no other reason, you download this to hear their version of Wall Of Voodoo's 80's Classic "Mexican Radio." A great cover song!

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE Demo from 1996
http://www.mediafire.com/?wjznznayqn2
http://www.mediafire.com/?wjznznayqn2
I think this is from 1996, possibly 95, anyways, SV were a local OC band, I was friends with Dave who lays bass on this demo, and I wrote the lyrics to the song Convenience... of course now they sound like silly love sick teenager lyrics, but thats what I was! They were fun live, I saw them tear up the Huntington Beach library. (literally, people were jumping up and punching holes through the fake ceiling!) Unfortunately, they faded away before leaving a mark. The tape i copied these songs from has seen better days, but oh well. They do a pretty fat version of We're Only Gonna Die by Bad Religion. Hopefully I can get Dave to leave some comments about this.

BAD RELIGION Live @ Berkeley 4-22-89

(these pictures were taken when I met Bad Religion at a Wherehouse music in Tustin for an in store appearance promoting THE NEW AMERICA. The Next day I went to an in store they were doing at Tower Records in San Diego and got them signed!) Obviously these aren't the signed versions... But I love that Brian Baker, formerly of Minor Threat personalized his with "I'm Drunk!"
I love Bad Religion... they are one of my favorite bands of all time. This is a fun show from the suffer era, Greg G has some fun banter with the crowd between songs, and even butchers a Journey song! Since BR really doesn't need me saying much about them, how I got this show is a bit more anecdotal. Before mp3s, those of us lucky enough to have computers with our 96 baud modems would find people to trade tapes with via snail mail through the early days of the internet. (I got in to tape trading right around the time i got AOL... how facinating it seemed after having to use BBS's and such..) This was one such tape I got. I don't remember who from, or what I traded for it, but it is one of the few live shows of theirs I got that I have never seen available in cyberspace... so now it is!!! This is different then another bootleg that circulates also in Berkeley from later in 1989.

OVERLAP - In The World Of Make-Believe
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=b3ec6855c076757c2fb2ca15d7ea42d9e04e75f6e8ebb871When I first heard the PUNK SUCKS CD on liberation records, I had no idea how much listening I would give it. as it turns out, it got quite a bit, even the bands on it I didn't care for. among the Bands I did like was this local OC band, who sound like screeching weasel fans. I would later work at Noise Noise Noise records with the guy who put out their first 7" single, and I found this cassette tape across the street at Discount Records. It was probably $.99, they knew nothing about music... anyways, I liked this tape a lot then, I searched the internet recently for MP3's of it, and to no avail, so I decided to copy it myself, and voila, that's kind of why I started this blog... Also inclyuded is their song from punk sucks and a nother compilation track I found. If there is anyone who reads this who has any of their 3 7"s, please let me know!
